Add-On Treatment

Cupping Therapy

An ancient healing practice that uses suction cups placed on the skin to promote circulation, ease muscle tension, and support your body's natural recovery process. Available as a powerful add-on to any massage session.

Best For

  • Stubborn muscle knots and persistent tension
  • Post-exercise soreness and athletic recovery
  • Upper back, shoulder, and neck tightness
  • Promoting circulation to specific areas
  • Complementing a deep tissue or Thai massage session
  • Those curious about traditional cupping therapy

What to Expect

Cupping therapy involves placing silicone or plastic cups on the skin and creating a gentle vacuum through suction. This draws the skin and superficial muscle layer slightly upward into the cup, which may help increase blood flow to the area, loosen fascial adhesions, and encourage the body's natural healing response.

At Meesa Method, cupping is offered as an add-on to any massage session. Your practitioner will incorporate the cups into your treatment at the most beneficial points, typically focusing on the upper back, shoulders, neck, and areas where you hold the most tension. The cups may be left stationary for several minutes or glided across the skin (sliding cupping) depending on the technique best suited to your needs.

You may feel a gentle pulling or tightening sensation when the cups are applied. Most clients find this sensation comfortable and even relaxing. Your practitioner will always check in to ensure you are comfortable with the intensity.

It is normal for cupping to leave temporary circular marks on the skin that range from light pink to deeper purple. These marks are not bruises and typically fade within a few days to two weeks, depending on the individual. The marks are a normal part of the cupping process and indicate that circulation has been stimulated in those areas.

Good to Know Before Your Session

  • Cupping is an add-on service and is performed during your massage session, not as a standalone treatment.
  • Temporary circular marks on the skin are expected and will fade naturally within days to two weeks.
  • Please inform your practitioner if you have sensitive skin, are taking blood thinners, or have any skin conditions.
  • Cupping is not recommended for those who are pregnant, sunburned, or have active skin inflammation in the treatment area.
  • Stay hydrated after your session to support your body's recovery process.
